At first I was sad to see Mickey Felice’s change hands. Mickey’s was a place my wife used to talk about while growing up in her 20′s in Patchogue. This past Friday after Alive After Five, we decided to check out the NEW Burger Shack. Having a 4 year old we sometimes find ourselves limited in the number of nighttime establishments we can dine and enjoy without feeling like we are intruding on the crowd. The Burger Shack reminds me of a Surf Shack without the sandy beaches and umbrella dressed cocktails. The homemade potato chips with seasoned salt were fantastic. The beers on tap and bottle along with the full service bar are your typical’s nothing out of the norm, but it is the Burger Shack, not the Beer Shack.
Now onto their food. They have a burger slammed between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza burger and a chili burger. I chose the Chili, Medium Rare.
The service was fantastic. Our son loved our waitress and was always flirting with her every time she came to the table. The food arrived in a timely fashion and were absolutely delicious. The chili was spicy without being overwhelming and the burger was juicy, filled with tons of flavor. The Burger Shack is moderately priced, but you know as soon as you add a couple of cocktails or beers, it can easily creep on ya!
All in all, Burger Shack was great and my entire family was pleased.
Good Luck and Cheers!
