Tattoo Artist at Alchemy Tattoo Arts in Bellmore & on Season 4 of Ink Master
One of Jay’s proudest and most symbolic tattoo’s is a tiny skull with the date 11-26-99 inscribed below it, it’s what he calls his Tattoo Birthday, the day his passion for ink ignited. (The full story of that tattoo and his other tattoos is coming soon to www.talesofthetatt.com). Jay has inked thousands of bodies here on the Island and is not ready to stop anytime soon. “The only thing I would want to do other than tattooing would be acting but I’ll never stop tattooing till the day I die” says Jay and after spending just a little bit of time with him I know that’s no BS.
“Long Island has best of both worlds, you have the city and you have Long Island, there’s always something to do” Jay says and we have to agree. His favorite Long Island Restaurant is Cafe Baci in Westbury, favorite bar is the Republic in Farmingdale and his favorite venue is the Paramount in Huntington “it’s like the Roseland on Long Island”. When asked Hamptons or Fire Island Jay replied “Hamptons because I spent my summers there with my grandparents as a kid”.
One thing you’ll always see on Jay is a Razor, he wears it on his neck in honor of Dimebag Darrell from Pantera, his favorite band. Dimebag was shot to death on stage while performing with Damageplan December 8th, 2004.
Look for Gentle Jay’s interview coming soon on talesofthetatt.com when he talks about his tattoo’s and the stories behind them. Be sure to watch Jay Tuesday nights on Spike TV’s Ink Master at 10p and be sure to vote for him after each episode.
